1. Dryness

Yes. Eucerin Eczema Relief™ contains Oatmeal and Castor seed oil to help moisturize the skin.

2. Allergens and Bacteria

3. Rebuilding Healthy Skin

Yes. Colloidal Oatmeal is a good starting point for providing the skin with a strong protective barrier. The formula contains ceramide which is known to coat the skin with a temporary, glossy, waxy layer to help fend off irritants. Unfortunately, ceramide tends to make the skin greasy and sticky.

Our Concern: Eucerin Eczema Relief is very comparable to both the Cetaphil and Aveeno eczema therapy creams. It attempts to combine oatmeal and ceramine to provide a one-two-punch, but the reviews were less than favorable. The most common complaint we came across was that it was “Too greasy” and when applied under clothes, made for an uncomfortable, sticky experience. And again, for a powerful skincare brand to provide a product with so few additional moisturizers or anti-allergens, as well as no powerful skin repairing agent, we were surprised that they landed on what we believe is a rather incomplete formula. For the above reasons, we gave Eucerin Eczema Relief our number four spot.

Ingredients: Colloidal Oatmeal 1.0%, Water, Glycerin, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Cetyl Palmitate, PEG-40 Stearate, Glycyrrhiza Inflata Root Extract, Ceramide 3,1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Piroctone Olamine, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Benzyl Alcohol, Citric Acid.

"On the greasy side"

Posted on by Donna B.

I use Dermaced deep therapy night cream to help alleviate eczema on my hands that happens because of lots of dish washing at work. Compared to Eucerin, this one is definitely oilier--it stays a bit greasy after application. It does work about as well as Dermaced, but because of the oiliness I can't really use it any time except for before I go to bed, so I'll probably stick with Dermaced as my go-to.

"An okay moisturizer, but provided no eczema relief"

Posted on by Lauren N.

This was an ok moisturizer but didn't stop the redness or itching. I used for 3 days, with no relief in sight, so I switched back to my Dermaced, which provides immediate and long lasting relief. It also seemed tacky on the skin - took a while to sink in, so I could not put clothes on immediately following lotion application.

"it was a big disappointment."

Posted on by Amanda C.

I expected great things from this product but was disappointed with the results as well as the consistency of the cream. Eucerin has always been a reliable product and I have been satisfied with whatever items I have purchased in the past. However, when a cream is tagged for such things as eczema, I expect it to have some beneficial effect. I had no relief from this cream. Beyond that, the application was so greasy that it felt quite unpleasant on the skin, not cooling as I expected. Would not use this product in the future.

I have eczema on my eyelids and my skin is extremely dry, cracked and itchy. This creme doesn't help at all with the severe itching and dryness.

"This bombed big time!"

Posted on by Jackie M.

My son has eczema and I thought this would be the best product for him. Turns out it wasn't. It didn't bring him relief. However, Dermaced was his answer. Must be a child to child thing. You can try it to see if it works, it just didn't for us.
